State Codes
State codes are used by law enforcement to communicate the current status or availability of officers and units. Below is a comprehensive list of all state codes used within the KNG Police Department.

State 0 – Panic, Emergency Assistance Required
Immediate emergency – officer requires urgent assistance. This code should trigger priority response from nearby units and control room escalation. Use clear location and threat details when broadcasting.

State 1 – On Duty
Officer is logged on and available for tasks. Not necessarily on patrol - may be completing admin or station duties but able to accept calls.

State 2 – On Patrol
Officer is actively patrolling and available to respond. Useful for resource allocation and directing calls to nearest units.

State 3 – At Station (Available)
Officer is at the station and available for duties or deployments. May be completing paperwork or awaiting assignment.

State 4 – On Break
Officer is temporarily unavailable while on an authorised break. Not to be dispatched unless in extreme emergencies or by explicit agreement.

State 5 – Enroute to Incident
Officer is travelling to an incident and should not be assigned new tasks unless they are of higher priority or nearer units are unavailable.

State 6 – At Scene
Officer is present at the incident location conducting investigations, providing assistance, or securing a scene. Provide status updates as the situation develops.

State 7 – Committed - Deployable
Officer is committed to an operation but can be redeployed if required. Typically used during multi-unit incidents where resource management is needed.

State 8 – Committed - Not Deployable
Officer is committed to an operation and cannot be redeployed. Often indicates critical involvement such as custody, specialist support, or prolonged investigation.

State 9 – Prisoner Escort Needed
Officer requires assistance with transporting a detainee. Indicates need for additional officers or custody transport resources and appropriate safety measures.

State 10 – At Court
Officer is attending court and is not available for operational tasks. Estimated return time should be communicated if known.

State 11 – Off Duty
Officer is off duty and should not be scheduled for immediate incidents. Use for rota management and duty planning.

State 12 – Confidential Message
Reserved for sensitive communications that require limited dissemination. Use caution when broadcasting and follow departmental guidance on confidentiality.

State 13 – Non-Urgent Call Back
Indicates the officer should be contacted back for non-urgent matters. Not for immediate operational redeployment.

State 14 – Urgent Call Back
Officer needs to be contacted back urgently—may require prompt redeployment or vital information. Prioritise this callback over non-urgent messages.

State 15 – Message Received
Acknowledgement that a message has been received; no immediate action required unless otherwise indicated.

State 16 – Repeat Message
Indicates that the previous message should be repeated or emphasised. Useful for ensuring critical instructions are noticed or confirmed.
